The Tannoy Eclipse One is ideal for those that demand audiophile sound quality in the smaller room. The Eclipse One feature a 0.8 litre heavyweight fibreboard cabinet with a single Eclipse 127 mm (5.00″) mid/bass driver and the range’s 28 mm (1.10″) dome tweeter. A simple two-way design for musical purity, the Eclipse One boasts up to 140 watts peak power handling, high 87 dB/watt efficiency and a Wideband frequency response from 55 Hz up to over 32 kHz. This makes the Eclipse One ideal for High Resolution Audio and gives the design plenty of headroom for standard resolution (20 Hz-20 kHz) music.
With its sturdy gold-plated speaker terminals, close tolerance components and the use of Tannoy’s high tech DMT coupling, the Eclipse One is a high-tech speaker delivering audiophile sound at a price well below similar specified competitor models. Its satin black oak finish, subtle trim detailing and removable grilles, make it suitable for any room in the home.
Tannoy’s proven heavyweight fibreboard cabinet design is employed in the Eclipse series. Internally braced to minimise cabinet colouration, they can deliver tighter, more tuneful bass. The cabinets are also rear ported to assist deep bass reproduction and keep the front baffle’s clean lines.
The low frequency drivers have been developed with a light, stiff multi-fibre cone with nitrile rubber surround for superb transient attack and bass punch. eight bolts on the mid/bass drivers to along with DMT to ensure optimal cabinet to driver integration.
The high efficiency neodymium magnets on the high frequency driver extend frequency response to 32 kHz, for smooth and detailed treble from the 1.1″ coated silk dome tweeter.
Eclipse crossovers include laminated core inductors for exceptional musical detailing. Tannoy’s unique differential materials technology compound is used to damp micro vibrations on the polypropylene capacitors, further enhancing Eclipse’s musicality and communication.
Finished in dark yet cool satin black oak and equipped with robust gold-plated speaker terminals, Eclipse leaves other budget loudspeakers in the shade.
